  3. Am painting a small bathroom, would like some ideas on bright up-t0-date color choices for small area (i.e. bathrooms)

    • Hi Debbie,
What looks good in one home or room, may not look good in another. So, to select a color for a room you can get a Color Consultation or do it yourself. A Color Consultation takes all the stress out and you’ll get a color in about an hour, but it that’s not in your budget – you can do it yourself. Start by deciding if you want a warm (red, orange, yellow) or cool (blue, green, purple) color. Once you narrow your basic color choice to one or two, then go out to your local paint store and get as many swatches as you can handle. What looks good inthe store may not looks good in your home, so again, get a lot of swatches. Then it’s just a process of elimination.

If you are doing a bathroom, a good thing to do is narrow it down to 2-3 color swatches, then go look for bathroom items (towels, shower curtain, rugs) to find ones that you like that goes best with one of the paint colors.

Another way to choose a paint color for any room is to base it off something already in the room that you love, or something you plan to purchase. For example, purchase a shower curtain, rugs, towels or wall art for your bathroom and match a paint color to the item.
      Best of luck!
      Jill
